Adamawa House of Assembly member, Adamu Kwanate (APC- Nasarawo/Binyeri), is dead.
The AC Metro News gathered that Kwanate died on Wednesday, March 6, four days after another lawmaker, Abubakar Abdurahman (ADC-Mubi South) passed away after a long illness.
Kwanate who is seeking reelection in the upcoming election on Saturday, March 9, was said to have collapsed during a campaign engagement in his constituency and was rushed to a hospital in Yola, where he died.
Mohammed Daji, information officer of the state assembly, who confirmed the death of the lawmaker to NAN, said: “I just got the shocking news of his death, but I am yet to get details of what happened.”
Meanwhile, ahead of the governorship and state House of Assembly elections, President Muhammadu Buhari addressed Nigerians calling for a peaceful process.
In the address on Wednesday, March 6, the president noted that the coming elections were very important considering the governors and state lawmakers were closer to the people.
President Buhari extended condolences to those who lost their lives or were injured due to criminal activities in the presidential election.
